Our Story

Cooked the old way, served for the way we eat now

Saffron & Spice opened on a quiet stretch of Queen Street with two tandoors, a handful of family recipes and a stubborn belief that Indian food deserves a beautiful room. We kept the slow-simmered gravies and the charcoal char, and let go of the heavy oils and the tired buffet trays.

Today the kitchen runs on the same principle: buy well, cook properly, season with confidence, and make everyone feel like a regular by the second visit.

Butter chicken was rich, flavorful and perfectly spiced. Easily the best in the area.

The biryani arrived steaming with the lid still sealed. Genuinely special.

Great vegetarian range — palak paneer and cheese naan were the table favourites.
